John Winston Lennon (9 October 1940 - 8 December 1980) is one of the main protagonists of Yellow Submarine. He is friends with Paul, George, and Ringo. He is voiced by John Clive.

Appearance[]

John wears round glasses, a black jacket, a lime green/yellow and pink clover-patterned under-shirt with a puffy collar, purple pants with a light purple right leg, and black shoes.

He has fair skin, black medium-length shaggy hair with sideburns, and a dark grey moustache.

Storyline[]

In Search of Help[]

When Ringo and Old Fred first find him, he is in the form of Frankenstein's Monster. After drinking a mysterious potion, he returns back to his normal human form. Together, they searched for, and eventually find, George and Paul (in that order). The group heads to the Yellow Submarine, and journeys off to Pepperland.

Sea of Time[]

In the Sea of Time, along his friends, he ages backwards then forward. When young, Old Fred tells the group that they would disappear soon, so, to counteract this, John reverses the clock. This prompts the group to sing When I'm Sixty-Four. Eventually, they are all reverted to their original ages.

Sea of Science[]

In the Sea of Science, John and his friends sing Only a Northern Song. After the song, they pick up the elephant monster.

Trivia[]

  • His collar is sometimes yellow, and sometimes lime green. This is likely due to different people and/or studios coloring the scenes, which were colored on cel sheets.
